Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Perform Well at Conference Championships

The Emerson Men's and Women's Cross Country teams took place in the NEWMAC Championships on Sunday afternoon, with the Women's team placing 10th in the 6K race and the Men's team placing seventh in the 8K race.

The Women's team finished with a total time of 2:13:49 and was paced by Junior Taloy Ranney.  Ranney finished in 59th place as the top runner for the Lions with a time of 25:38.0.  Madison Lynch came in second for the Lions and 62nd overall, taking a 26:03 time for the6K race.  Emily Hammond was close behind Lynch with a 26:31 finishing time and came in 65th place.  Paige Thimmesch and Jenny Ferm came in close to each other with Thimmesch finishing at 27:34 and Ferm finishing at 28:03, 70th and 72nd respectively.  Jocelyn Yang and Emma McGoldrick finished the placers for the Lions, taking 76th and 77th at 31:03 and 32:41.  Alexia Brown closed out the runners for Emerson with a 34:00 finish. 

On the Men's side, Emerson finished with a 2:33:32 overall time and came in 7th place for the 8k race.  Oliver Glass paced the Lions with a 27:57 finish and came in 27th place.  Joey MacNeil, Kevin Serrano, and Pgillipe Legagneur finished in a trio close together.  MacNeil led the small pack with a 30:03 finish and 42nd.  Serrano was right behind MacNeil with a 44th place finish at 30:07.  Legagneur was a a little farther behind, coming in 47th at 30:43.  Devin McAlister finished 52nd with a time of 34:42 and was followed by Anthony LaBruto and Sam Peersall.  LaBruto finished in 53rd at 35:53 and Persall casein at 54th at 36:21. 

Both teams will travel to Bowdoin College to take part in the NCAA New England Regionals on November 16th, 2019.
