Entering his 12th year at Emerson, success has followed nearly every step of his coaching career without exception in Boston. He has concluded several coaching jobs at high levels of achievement starting at the University of New Hampshire (back to back conference champions & NCAA Tournament appearances), Seacoast Juniors Volleyball Club (18’s New England Region Champions), Wheaton (18 win improvement in his second season), as well as additional stints at UConn, Johnson & Wales and Bryant.
Thus far in his tenure at Emerson, Read has reached the championship finals twice in the GNAC, once in the ECAC and once in the NEWMAC. He’s made one NCAA Tournament appearance and led the Lions to their highest regional ranking in program history last year (6th). For the women's program, Read has compiled an 170-118 overall record. On the men's side, Coach Read has led the program to conference playoffs all but one season. Additionally, he has coached a conference tournament MVP, three defensive players of the year, four rookies of the year, seven 1st team, eight 2nd and eight 3rd team all-conference players while at Emerson.
Read earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology: Exercise Science from University of New Hampshire in 2002.
