The Emerson Women's Tennis Team has been ranked No. 7 in the New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll for 2020.  The Lions finished the 2019-2020 season with a 10-9 overall record and a 2-6 record in conference.

The poll is paced by MIT who captured their fourth straight NEWMAC title in 2019.  The Babson Beavers follow the Engineers after a runners-up campaign in 2019.  Wellesley, Mount Holyoke, and Wheaton come in third, fourth, and fifth.  Springfield is the last team above Emerson in sixth, with the Lions claiming the seventh spot.  The poll is closed out by Smith and Clark in eighth and ninth respectively.

The Lions open up their Spring season in Florida, when they will play five matches in four days, with the opening match coming against King's (Pa.) on March 1st.
