HOW IT HAPPENED
3': Emerson found themselves in a 1-0 hole in the opening three minutes when Pero slotted in a pass from Duncan.
25': A defensive miscue committed by the Lions allowed the Jumbos to grab the 2-0 advantage over the visitors.
33': Emerson made their way onto the board eight minutes later when Barragan-Shaw made a nice run down the right side, beat the defender and had her crossed pass deflected into the net by the Jumbos with the lead cut in half at 2-1 going into the break.
50': Pero had her pass bounce off a Lions defender and fall to the feet of Sommers, who botted in Tufts' third goal for the 3-1 lead.
60': Ten minutes later, Emerson's deficit grew to three when Duncan tallied the host's fourth and final goal off a crossed pass from Claire Wilkinson
-Emerson stayed on the attack despite the three-goal deficit and gave themselves opportunities to get back in the game. The first chance came from sophomore Madeline Khaw, whose shot dinged off the crossbar.
-The next prime scoring opportunity came 10 minutes later from junior Brittney Righetti, who had her shot go past the reach of Logue, but hit the post and was quickly recovered.
- Emerson returns to Rotch on Tuesday, September 13th and will face Plymouth State in a 6:00 p.m. matchup.
