The Lead: The Emerson Women's Soccer team finished their west coast matchup with a 0-0 draw against UC Santa Cruz. Sophomore Amara Schaub and the Emerson defense kept the Banana Slugs off the board for 90 minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The matchup between the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs and the Emerson Lions saw a total of 26 shots, with the Slugs getting the better of Emerson 14-12.

Senior Cali Bruce and Graduate Caitlin Johnston had scoring opportunities within the first 10 minutes, but neither were able to find the back of the net. In the 23' Sophomore Madeline Khaw tried to sneak a shot past the Slugs' goalie, but was unsuccessful.

Sophomore goalkeeper Amara Schaub was stellar in net, turning away all four of UC Santa Cruz's shots on goal. With neither team converting on any of their scoring opportunities, the match would end in a 0-0 draw.
