The Lead: Sophomores Lauren Longstreet and Maddy Reyes and freshman Callie Krosin each tallied goals for the Emerson women's lacrosse team in the Lions' 20-3 setback to Babson on Wednesday night.

Anna Katherine Sypniewski: seven goals

GOALIE : Kathleen Murphy (9-5) - three goals allowed on nine shots faced with six stops through 60 minutes

 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • A net from Sypniewski gave Babson the 1-0 lead a mere 27 seconds into the first quarter before the Beavers put Emerson in a 7-0 hole after they strung together the next six goals. 
  • Babson got three more goals from Leveillee, Kaskey and Sypniewski to up the Beavers' cushion to 11-0. Then at the 10:23 mark, Longstreet registered the first Emerson goal to put the score at 11-1. 
  • Through the final nine minutes, the visitors added on three more goals as Emerson went into the break down 10.
  • Emerson got two goals back within the third quarter and got the first from Krosin at 13:41. Nine minutes later, Reyes fired in a shot from Longstreet with 4:32 on the clock. Sypniewski rounded out the third quarter scoring with a marker at 1:01 with the score at 16-3. 
  • Babson scored all of the fourth's four goals as the visitors claimed the 20-3 win.
