Former Women's Basketball Standout, Shannon Norton Promoted to Operations Coordinator for Mad Ants and Indiana Fever

Former Lions Women's Basketball standout and assistant coach Shannon Norton was recently promoted to Operations Coordinator for the Mad Ants of the NBA G League as well as the Indiana Fever of the WNBA. Norton has been serving as the Operations and Equipment Manager for the Indiana Fever since April of this year.

Norton graduated from Emerson in 2013, obtaining a degree in Visual and Media Arts with a concentration in Television Production. While attending Emerson she was a three-year starter of the women's basketball team after spending one season at Suffolk University before transferring. By her senior season, Norton was named captain, leading her team from the point guard position. Norton finished her playing career as a Lion in the top 10 for career assists, assists average, most assists in a season, 3-pointers made, and career 3-point FG%.

Norton returned to downtown Boston in 2018 as an assistant coach for the Lions, helping guide Emerson to three NEWMAC playoff appearances.

Norton will assist with the Mad Ants during the NBA G League season and continue with the Indiana Fever during the WBNA season.
