The Lead: Freshman Devin Hill paced the Emerson women's basketball team with a season-high 23 points as the Lions' were edged out, 67-60, by Endicott on Tuesday night in non-conference women's basketball action down at Brown & Plofker Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST QUARTER
- Junior Carla Pelino knotted the score at an early 2-2 tie at 9:14, which was the closest Emerson would come to Endicott within the first 10 minutes.
- Emerson found themselves playing from behind for much of the first when at the 2:38 mark, the Lions were down their biggest deficit at 18-6.
- Two frees throw and layup put four more points for the Lions to wrap the opening frame down 18-10.
SECOND QUARTER
- Nearing the midway point of the second, Emerson began to forge a comeback that began with a pair of Gibbons' shots from the free throw stripe at 5:52. Gibbons followed up in a the coming minutes and singlehandedly tallied five more points to inch the Lions within three at 22-19.
- Emerson kept up with Endicott and made some key stops, which allowed Emerson to stay within seven going into the half with the score at 34-27.
THIRD QUARTER
- Starting at 8:28 up until 7:10, sophomore Olivia Deslauriers converted three consecutive baskets to get Emerson back within a trio at 39-36. Just under a minute later at 6:20, Hill dropped in her next three shots as the Lions found themselves down one at 43-42.
- Dempsey put up a jumper at 3:14 to give Endicott the three-point edge back only to see Deslauriers connect on a deep three to knot the game at 45-all.
- Endicott continued to hold a slight lead over Emerson as the Lions went to the charity stripe to end the third down one at 48-47.
FOURTH QUARTER
- It was in the early minutes of the fourth where Emerson gained its first lead over Endicott, 51-50, behind a layup and a pair of free throws from Hill with 9:21 to go.
- The two teams remained neck and neck midway through the fourth with Emerson again up one, 54-53, behind sophomore Ella Bushee's trey, which Endicott followed with an 8-0 streak to put the visitors up seven, 51-47, at 4:32.
- After Gibbons nailed a shot from downtown to keep Emerson within three at 61-58, Hill went a perfect two-for-two on the line to keep the deficit at three with 1:46 to go.
- Emerson missed four vital free throw chances down the stretch before a missed three pointer attempt with four seconds left went wide as the Lions fell to the Gulls, 67-60.
