The Lead: The Emerson women's basketball team fell to the Bridgewater State Bears Thursday afternoon. An evenly matched game with the difference being Bridgewater shooting 52.4% behind the 3-point line compared to Emerson's 14.3%

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Emerson was cold shooting the ball to start the game shooting only 21.4% from the field and 0-3 from behind the 3-pont line.
  • Bridgewater State's Sydney Bradbury added 5 of her game high 22 points in the opening quarter to give the bears a 6-point lead.
  • Emerson found their stroke in the 2nd quarter shooting 50% from the field. Devin Hill and Katie Beckmann each had 4 points to cutting the Bear's lead to 29-28 heading into halftime.
  • Both teams shot well from the field in the 3rd quarter, but the difference was Bridgewater State drilling 4-5 from the 3-point line giving them a 52-47 lead heading into the final quarter.
  • The Bears stayed hot from behind the arc, hitting four more 3-pointers in the final quarter. Aisnley Jolin was 2-2 from 3-point range in the quarter. Devin Hill added 5 of her 13 points but it wasn't enough to stop the Bears from securing a 76-68 victory.
