The Lead: The Emerson Women's Basketball team defeated the Johnson & wales Wildcats in their last home game fothe decade on Saturday afternoon. A balanced attack led by 20 points from Rachel Davey (Saratoga, Fla.) and strong defense helped the lions to the 46 point victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Johnson and Wales opened the scoring in the first quarter on a Moro layup, taking their lone lead of the game at 2-0. From this basket, Emerson rattled off 20 straight points behind three pointers from Davey and Ashley Toner (Barnegat, N.J.). The wildcats got back on the board on a Gallagher layup with 24 seconds left in the quarter, and the Lions took a 20-4 lead into the first break.
- Emerson continued their strong defensive play, going on an 11-4 run to start the quarter with two layups from Boyle to lead the team in the run. The Lions closed out the quarter on another run, this time at 12-6 behind eight points from Davey who had two of her three made three pointers in the run.
- In the second half, Emerson was able to control the rest of the game and keep building on their lead. The Lions outscored the Wildcats in every quarter, including by 10 in the third quarter and by five in the fourth quarter. The Lions closed out the game with a 77-31 victory.
- Emerson gets back in action in the Puerto Rico Clasico on December 9th against Lancaster Bible. The Lions will play a second game in the tournament two days later against local opponent UMASS Boston.
