The Lead: The Emerson Women's Basketball Team welcomed the Tufts Jumbos for the second half of a doubleheader on Tuesday night, the Lions fell to the No. 2 ranked team in the nation 87-43.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson and Tufts came out strong, with the teams trading buckets to start the game. Cailin Harrington of Tufts scored eight straight points herself behind a three pointer and a three point play to give the Jumbos a 5 point lead at 10-5. The Jumbos extended their lead to 13 with Lilly Paro connection on two straight three point attempts, and eventually took a 24-9 lead into the first break.
- In the second frame, the Jumbos kept the Lions at bay, and eventually extended their lead. Paro connected on another three pointer to extend the lead to 23 at 39-16. Madden answered right back with a layup and the foul, competing the three point play at the free throw line. Tufts closed out the quarter on a 9-2 run, taking a 48-21 lead into the half.
- Emerson came out strong and battled in the second half, but were unable to make a dent in the lead built by the Jumbos. In thee fourth quarter, Erica Decandido connected on two free throws for the Jumbos, scoring her 1000th career point with the second attempt. The Lions fell with a final score of 87-43.
- Emerson gets back in action on Saturday when the welcome Bridgwater State to the Brown & Plofker Gym for a 12:00pm start.
