Emerson Softball Senior Day 2020

Emerson Softball Senior Day 2020

Congratulations to Micaela Dix (White House Station, N.J.) and Maddie Tomich for their great careers as Emerson Softball Student-Athletes. Dix played in 108 games as a Lion, finishing with a .208 batting average, five home runs, 30 RBIs, 39 walks, five stolen bases, and a .929 fielding percentage. Tomich played in 53 games, finishing with a .286 batting average 36 hits, six home runs, 21 RBIs, 11 walks, and 11 stolen bases.

Head Coach Phil McElroy on Micaela and Maddie: "It's always difficult to say goodbye to our senior players but this year is especially difficult given the circumstances.

Maddie and Micaela are fantastic student-athletes that we have been so fortunate to have at Emerson and as a part of our softball family.

Maddie Tomich  a three year player for us that is graduating early, Maddie was a huge part of our first climb into the NEWMAC playoffs during her freshman season.  She was a force at the plate in 2018 as she hit 5 Home Runs and 8 doubles in only 77 at bats.
2020 looked promising as in just 26 at bats, Maddie was off to a hot start.  She was 9-26 with 4 doubles a triple and a home run.

Micaela Dix was our captain in 2020 and the best defensive shortstop in the NEWMAC. She will be greatly missed.  Her passion and dedication to the game was exemplified through her work on the field, the weight room and during the offseason.  One of the best athletes in the history of our program, she takes her spot in the mount rushmore of shortstops we've been fortunate to have.

I cannot put into words the impact that Maddie and Micaela have made to our program.  We wish them the best as they begin their journey after Emerson and cannot wait to bring them back to campus next fall to celebrate all that they've achieved."
