Seniors Lead Lions To Split vs Beavers on Senior Day


Game One Score: Babson 7, Emerson 2

GAME ONE (Babson 7, Emerson 2)


  • Babson outhit the Lions 7-5 in the seven inning game.
  • Annie Quine  and Ashley Tango led the Beavers with two hits a piece.
  • Lindsey Lowe (Porter Ranch, Calif.) and Jacqueline DeFusco (East Greenwich, R.I.) each had two hits as well for the Lions.
  • Neely Eddleston (West Wareham, Mass.) took the loss while Ali Reilly earned her 11th win on the year for Babson.


  • Babson jumped out to an early lead over the Lions with two first inning runs, capped off by a Tango double to left center which brought home Quine.
  • Ali Reilly helped herself in the top of the second inning with a solo home run to extend Babson's lead to 3-0.
  • After Babson tacked on two more runs, Jacqueline DeFusco hit a solo home run of her own t o give the Lions life in the bottom of the fourth inning.
  • A sacrifice fly by Kallista Leonardos (El Granada, Calif.)  cut Babson's lead to three in the bottom of the sixth, but the Beavers added two more in the top of the seventh to see the final score come to 7-2.

GAME TWO (Emerson 6, Babson 1)


  • This was Emerson's first victory over Babson since 2014.
  • Emerson outhit the Beavers 9-8 and outscored them 6-1.
  • Marisa DeFranco (Falls Church, Va.) earned her second win of the season by pitching six inning, scattering eight hits and only allowing one run. 
  • Casey Tsamis (Colchester, Conn.) pitched the final inning in her Senior Day game pushing the Lions to victory.
  • Jacqueline DeFusco, Maddie Tomich (Lithia, Fla.), and Alena Jones (Woodinville, Wa.) each had two hits on the day for the Lions.
  • Brooke Stock took the loss for the Beavers in her 1.2 innings pitched.


  • The Lions took a 3-0 lead in the second inning, starting with a Molly Goldstein single bringing home Maddie Tomich.
  • With the bases loaded Defusco hit a single to left field which brought home Goldstein and Alena Jones to give the Lions a 3-0 lead.
  • The Lions added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning when Maddie Tomic hit a two run home run to right center field, bringing the score to 5-0.
  • Babson grabbed one run back in the top of the sixth inning when Jamie Hoffman singled to center field bringing home Jacqueline Paul.
  • In the bottom of the frame, Micaela Dix scored after a throwing error by Babson to give the Lions a 6-1 lead.
  • Casey Tsamis closed out the game in the top of the seventh to give the Lions a 6-1 victory. 


  • Emerson travels to take on Clark University in a NEWMAC Battle on Friday, April 20th.
  • Babson has non conference action ahead tuesday when they take on Tufts.
