During practice on Friday night, the Emerson Men's Volleyball Team honored its' three seniors, Sam Willinger (Golden Beach, Fla.) Danny Mullen (Bedford, N.H.), and Leon Chen (Hong Kong, China). The players were able welcome their families virtually through a live stream, and families were able to watch the practice.
Sam is a four year player for the Lions, who's impact was felt both on and off the court. Sam has served as the Student Athlete Advisory Committee President for the last two years and worked as a Student Ambassador for Admissions, giving tours for perspective students and their families. Over his four years on the court, Sam amassed 409 points, 341 kills, a .156 hitting percentage, 13 assists, 24 service aces, 170 digs, and 74 blocks. He played in 61 matches and 200 sets, averaging 1.71 kills per set and .85 digs per set.
Danny walked onto the Emerson team having never played volleyball, and was a bright spot for the team. Danny played in six matches and recorded one dig, but his hard work was seen each day on the court. Danny plans to attend Emerson Los Angeles in the fall and graduate in December.
Leon Chen was honored, but was unable to participate as he is not on campus. Leon played in 24 matches for the Lions, amassing 43 digs, seven service aces, and two kills as a defensive specialist.
Thank you to all three seniors for their time committed to Emerson and the Volleyball Program.
