  • The first half saw Babson outshoot the Lions by an 8-1 margin. Although Babson was able to get 8 shots off, none of them found the back of the net and both defenses were able keep the opposition off the board. The first half ended scoreless.
  • Early in the second half, both sides had scoring chances as Babson's Ben Williams put a shot on net that was turned away by Ethan Fitzsimmons. Followed by Emerson's Chris Moulinos and Gabe Rich both getting shots on net within minutes of eachother, but neither were able to find the back of the net.

62"- Babson broke the scoreless tie when Ben Williams headed a pass from Noah Labelle past the Emerson keeper; giving the Beavers a 1-0 lead with less than 30 minutes remaining. This proved to be all the offense either side would need. Babson's defense would keep the Lions at bay for the remainder of the match and walk away as the 2022 NEWMAC Champions.

The Lions complete the 2022 campaign as their most successful in program history. With an overall record of 10-3-6 and a NEWMAC record of 4-2-1, the Lions finished as the 2nd seed in the NEWMAC and ultimately lost in the NEWMAC Championship. The team will await the NCAA selection show on Monday, November 7th.
