Gervais & Franklin To Represent Emerson In NEILA DIII Men's Lacrosse Senior All-Star Game

WORCESTER, Mass. - The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced their 2022 NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game roster on Thursday, June 2nd with Emerson men's lacrosse seniors Hunter Gervais and Austin Franklin being selected to represent Emerson on the East team. Gervais and Franklin will be one of eight NEWMAC seniors representing their respective schools. 

The game will be composed of NCAA Division I, II and III players and take part of Friday, June 3rd at Providence College's Anderson Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. faceoff in Providence, Rhode Island. 

Franklin, who served as a co-captain for the 2022 season, suited up and started in all 18 of Emerson's games. Within 18 games, the New Bedford, Mass. native collected 45 points on 36 goals alongside nine assists. The graduate put in a season-best five goals twice (at Manhattanville & at Gordon) and registered to six-point showings in the Lions' historic 12-6 campaign. During his career, Franklin racked up 76 goals with 36 assists for a total of 111 points. 

Gervais also served as a co-captain for the 2022 season and started in all 18 of Emerson's game. A three-time selection to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team, Gervais finished his senior campaign with 41 points on 28 goals and 13 assists. The highlight of the Johnston, R.I. native's season came when he potted his season-high five goals against Coast Guard to push Emerson past the Bears, 14-13, in a playoff clinching victory. 

The Lions completed their 2022 season with an overall record of 12-6 and were 2-4 in NEWMAC play, which earned them the program's first trip to the postseason.
