-A pitcher's duel went down between the Lions and Engineers through the following seven innings until both teams' bats sparked in the eighth inning.

Top 8th: With the runners on second and third, Emerson's eighth frame off saw the first of three runs score on an Engineers throwing mishap that saw Colucci cross home before McCahan walked in a bases-loaded RBI. The bags remained juiced and the Lions plated the go-ahead run on Padovani's sacrifice fly into center. (3-2)

Bottom 8th: The hosts followed with a busy eighth of their own and crossed six runs across that included a home run over the left field fence by Connors and a two-run triple from the bat of Salvon. (8-3)

Top 9th: The bases were once again packed with Lions in the ninth with no outs. After Davolio singled into left, sophomore Thai Morgan dropped a single into left to bring in Colucci that was followed by Cohen coming home on a wild pitch. Down by a pair, Emerson made WPI work with the bases still loaded. The Lions tallied two more runs on another wild pitch and a double play ball before Radcliffe retired the visitors on strikes.
