The Lead: Freshman Albany Alexander (Orlando, Fl.) contributed a season-high 10 kills to propel the Emerson women's volleyball team to a straight sweep 3-0 win over the Bridgewater State Bears in non-conference women's volleyball action on Thursday night. Emerson grabbed the first two sets by the score of 25-18 before they cruised to the sweep in a 25-14 win in the third frame.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Alexander, the lone overall player to hit double digits in kills, produced 10 swings and one block to power the Emerson offense, while junior Moira Brennan (Glenview, Ill.) had an overall match high 21 helpers.
- Sophomore Kayleen Bertrand (New Boston, N.H.) served a match high seven aces as junior Fara Cohen (Morristown, N.J.) registered nine digs and classmate Kelley Guerra (Randolph, N.J.) paced the defense with three solo blocks.
- On the offensive end, Megan Tamasanis led Bridgewater State with seven kills, Alyssa Kelley recorded a pair of assists and Cassidy Tyros paced both teams with a match-best 13 digs.
- Sarah Gibbons led the Bears of the defensive side with a trio of solo blocks.
