Women's Tennis Falls at Franklin Pierce, 5-4

RINDGE, N.H. - Another close loss for the Lions was sealed by not only the fading light of Saturday afternoon but by Ravens Kelly Wilson, who sealed the match at 8-4 in sixth singles, handing the Ravens the 5-4 win over the Lions at Franklin Pierce.

The Ravens led 2-1 following doubles play. Only the Lions doubles pairing of Tiziana Vazquez and Cassia Burns was able to take a point in the doubles format, winning 8-5 in third doubles.

The match was close coming down the stretch as singles victories by Alex Weingarten (3-6, 7-6, 10-5), Jolin Cheng (6-1, 6-2), and Mackenzie Swaney (8-1) put the Lions at four total points.

The loss drops the Lions to 1-3 on the season, with all three losses coming by a score of 5-4. The fall season has concluded for the ladies team, who now waits until spring to continue the 2017-18 schedule.
