Women's Tennis Gets Back To Their Winning Ways With 9-0 Sweep of USJ

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Emerson Women's Tennis Team got back to their winning ways with their third 9-0 sweep of the season Monday afternoon win a win over USJ. With the win, EC improves to 5-2 on the year and 4-1 in conference play.

Doubles didn't see the Lions break a sweat as they cruised to 8-0 wins in the first and third spots while Natalie Nicholas and Annabell Nielsen closed out the perfect start with an 8-1 win in the two spot.

Singles saw the Lions showcase their talents as the one, two and three spots all pulled in 6-0, 6-0 wins to make it a quick 6-0 for Emerson. Jana Winfield took home the next W for EC with a 6-1, 6-1 win at four before Annabell Nielsen took a 6-2, 6-0 win at six. Closing it out was Alanna Grady, who stepped up for a 6-2, 6-1 win at five over Lindsay Tracy.

Next up, the Lions will travel to Providence, R.I. to take on JWU this Friday for a 3:30 p.m. match start.
