The Lead: The Emerson men's soccer team squandered a 3-0 setback under the lights on Monday night to the Regis (Mass.) Pride in non-conference men's soccer action. 



  • Emerson held the 16-11 shot advantage over Regis, as well as the 6-4 edge in corner kicks. 
  • Regis had 14 infractions on their end, while Emerson committed six infractions.
  • Sophomore Gavin Faucette (Oakland, Calif.) registered seven shots, including three on goal. 
  • Senior net minder Lucas Fischer (Atlanta, Ga.) allowed three tallies within 90 minutes, while he turned away three shots. 
  • Fabayanno Furbino paced the Regis offense and recorded two of their three goals, while Derek Triana produced one goal and a pair of assists. 
  • Ken Niyonzima and Daniel Montoya were also credited with one assist each. 
  • Jesse Bonilla (9-7-1) kept Emerson off the board and came away with six saves through 88 minutes. 



  • Despite Emerson outshooting Regis 8-5 through the first 45 minutes, two of the Pride's shots made their way into the net and gave them the 2-0 edge going into the half. 
  • Regis entered the scoring mix at the 12th minute mark off a net by Triana, who drilled the game's first net from within the right post off a pass from Niyonzima towards midfield and into the left hand corner past Fischer. 
  • After Montoya broke away down the center, he passed the ball off to an open Furbino within the left side of the box and fired the Pride's second goal past Fischer's reach.
  • Emerson once again outshot Regis, this time at 8-6, but the Lions were held scoreless as the visitors added an insurance goal at the 84th minute mark to put the final at 3-0. 
  • In the 84th minute, Furbino notched his second goal of the game after he caught Fischer out of position and fired the ball into the lower right hand corner. 



  • Emerson concludes its regular season campaign on Saturday, October 28 and welcome MIT for a NEWMAC tilt slated for a 1:00 p.m. start. 
  • Regis (Mass.) opens postseason play in the first round of the GNAC Tournament on Sunday, October 29 and will face Mount Ida at 1:00 p.m.
