Aaron Bergeron Joins the Lions as New Head Coach for Men's and Women's Tennis

Emerson Athletics is pleased to announce that Aaron Bergeron will be taking over as the new Head Coach for the Emerson Tennis programs. Coach Munsey has taken a new position at Winchester Indoor Tennis, but will be staying on as the Associate Head Coach.

Coach Bergeron joins the Lions after serving as the head coach at the Wentworth Institute of Technology and Merrimack College. While at Merrimack he lead the Men's team to a Northeast-10 Conference Title in 2015, and was the 2015 NE-10 Men's Tennis Coach of the Year. Prior to coaching at Merrimack, Bergeron also served as head coach at the University of Southern Maine, where he lead the Men's team to their first Little East Conference title and first NCAA tournament appearance since 2007. He was voted the 2014 Little East Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.

Coach Bergeron graduated from Stonehill College with a BA in Psychology. He played on their varsity tennis team where he was a 6-time All-Conference Selection and made the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. He also served as team captain during his senior year.

When not coaching, Bergeron competes in USTA adult leagues including the men's 4.5, 8.0 mixed, and 9.0 mixed leagues. He has gone to nationals in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Emerson Athletics is thrilled to have such a talented coach join our staff and look forward to the continued success of our Men's and Women's Tennis programs.
